Getting Outside of Your Comfort Zone

Getting Outside of Your Comfort Zone

When you live in a routine, you don't have to think so much. Trying something new helps build flexible thinking and "wakes up" your brain, which helps our mental well-being.

Trying new things is also good for your mood. It can make your brain release dopamine, which leads to good feelings. And feeling good leads to staying young and active.

Not to mention, you can gain valuable experience along the way and you almost always get a chance to get to know and learn from some pretty amazing people.

Most importantly, for me, trying something new forces you to grow. Growth requires us to take new action first, whether it's adopting a new attitude or a new way of thinking, or literally trying something you've never tried before. A spirit of constant self-challenge keeps you humble and open to new ideas that very well may be better than beliefs you currently hold near and dear.

I definitely went out of my comfort zone for this interview with my good friend and mentor Kathy Larsen from HeartLight Connection. And it turned out to be a lot of fun.
