There Are No Coincidences
In retrospect, I now fully understand how God puts us all on the right path, even though we don’t see it at the time it’s happening to us. Trusting completely helps you see the path unfold in real-time, and it is an amazing, eye-opening experience.
I have lived what I would have described, while it was happening, a “normal” life. I followed the unspoken rules of our time: college, marriage, children, own a home, accumulate “stuff”, and so on. With 3 very active kids and a 9 to 5 job with a lot of responsibility, I didn’t think to truly take time to connect and truly be thankful for my health, wealth and other blessings I had been given.
Fast forward to 2016, I started to experience health issues. A quick summary: after 5 ER visits, countless general practioner and specialist consultations, a multitude of tests – over the span of 2 and a half years – I was finally diagnosed with a condition called Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (in addition to experiencing Vestibular Migraines). In short, POTS is a set of symptoms that cause the body’s autonomic system (the automatic things you take for granted like breathing, heart rate, digestion, blood pressure, etc) to go completely haywire. Symptoms would last for a few minutes, a few hours, a few days or a few months – and they ranged from feeling very dizzy, shaky, short of breath and nauseous to feeling like I was having a major stroke or a heart attack. Due to my work travel, I found myself in the ER alone in other states due to the onset of symptoms of both of these conditions occurring all at once. Once I even passed out in the Denver airport alone, so I ended up in the Emergency Room for the second time that day.
Of course, the cure I was given to lessen my symptoms was pharmaceutical-based. The initial medications made me loopy, tired and just feeling blah. Yes, for the most part they took away the pain and dizziness, but eventually I went looking for other opinions and different options.
Anyway, my point in telling you all of this is that this was the start of me finding my purpose in life.
A New Path: A Lesson In Time And Patience
My first eye-opening event was reading a book that was given to me. The book discussed a multitude of “newer illnesses” that many people are experiencing that can be linked to the growing amount of “toxins” and heavy metals stored in our body. We take on toxins from previous generations, plus we continue to hinder our body daily by ingesting un-natural elements from our food and the environment – no matter how careful we are. The majority of these are not eliminated, but become rooted deep in our organs.
Every body is different, but there is a plethora of plant-based, organic nutrition options to assist in cleansing the organs and tissues.
Educating yourself is the first step.
Easy, Positive Changes
-
Nutrition
We are what we eat. What we put in our bodies plays a vital role in current and future health. Nutrition is the cornerstone to improving your health.
-
Nature
The healing power of nature. Once you start to pay attention, you won’t believe the peace to be found outside with the plants, trees and the sounds of nature.
-
Meditation
The idea is to take time alone each day to sit quietly and reflect on a question or idea, project gratitude or just simply “be”. It's simple and worth it.
-
Positive Energy
Don’t worry about things you cannot control. Fear and uncertainty has no point in your life. It affects your energy and therefore the energy you give to others.
-
"Healthcare"
There are so many "alternative" forms of healthcare that really work. It may take a little searching and testing to find what works best for you.
Looking Foward, Not Backward
The current overall healthcare system is broken: growing hospital corporations is tied to structure of large insurance companies policies is connected to federal and state government regulation. I am not an outsider to this issue: after spending over 25 years working in this industry, it is completely apparent the entire structure needs a complete overhaul. Each of us need to take more Ownership and Control of our own Health and Care.
Looking back, there are so many very specific “coincidences” God put in front of me to open my eyes and lead me down this new path. Books I was meant to read, podcasts I was meant to hear, people that I was meant to “run into” at a specific time. Key words and phrases would appear that would lead to many “aha moments”.
I can’t explain the strong nudge I received to complete my Reiki and Herbalist certifications. It has been an amazing experience, one I hope to share with you someday.
